Church Services

Sunday School

When is it on?
9:15am every Sunday during school terms

What is Sunday School?
Sunday School is an opportunity for people aged 3 and over to learn from God's Word in classes designed for specific age groups.
These age groups are:

  • Preschool/kinder (ages 3-5)
  • Primary (ages 6-12)
  • Youth (ages 13-19)
  • Adult (ages 20+)

The usual format each Sunday is everyone starts off together for a time of singing Sunday School songs before breaking off into our respective Sunday School classes.
Morning tea is provided at 10:00am.

Sunday Morning Service

When is it on?
10:30am every Sunday

What do you do in the morning services?
The morning services usually go for just over an hour. It consists of singing hymns of praise and worship, followed by a message from God's Word.
Pastor Mitchell preaches most of the messages, with other men willing to share from God's Word as well.

Sunday Evening Service

When is it on?
5:00pm every Sunday

What happens in an evening service?
The evening service follows a similar format to that of the morning service with another message from God's Word.

Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting

When is it on?
7:00pm every Wednesday

Are prayer meetings different to Sunday services?
Wednesday night prayer meetings usually consist of a brief time of praise with hymns and a message from God's Word, followed by a time of sharing prayer requests. We then pray together in smaller prayer groups.

One Way Club

What is One Way Club?
One Way Club is a children's club staffed by adults who regularly attend the Golden City Baptist Church. Our name comes from the Bible where Jesus said, "I am the Way... no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" John 14:6.
We believe there is only One Way to heaven and that is through the Lord Jesus Christ.

What time does One Way start and finish?
One Way is held at our church from 6:00pm till 7:30pm every Friday evening during school terms.

How do the children get to Club?
We prefer the children be dropped off by their parents at the church and picked up at the conclusion of Club. However, with advance notice, we are able to provide pick up and drop offs with the church bus or have a leader pick them up if the parents are unable to transport their children.

What age group does One Way cater for?
One Way caters for primary school kids (prep to grade 6).
Our church has a youth group for high school students as well (scroll down for more info).

What do we do at One Way Club?
There are three main sessions on a normal night at Club.

  • Games time – approx. 45 minutes
  • Bible story time – appox. 25 minutes
  • Team time – approx. 20 minutes

Youth Group

What is Youth Group?
Youth Group is a club staffed by adults who regularly attend the Golden City Baptist Church. Each week, the youth will listen to a message from the Bible and spend some time doing activities in the church hall.

What time does Youth Group start and finish?
Youth Group is held at our church from 7:30pm till 9:00pm every Friday evening during school terms.

How do the youth get to Youth Group?

Mums & Minis

What is Mums & Minis?
Mums & Minis is a time of fellowship and encouragement for young mothers. It is also a play time for their little children, with toys provided by the church.
Morning tea is provided for all who attend.

This ministry is held at our church every Tuesday morning from 10:00am till 12:00pm during school terms.
