How do you know that you will go to Heaven?
God says there is only ONE WAY to have your sins forgiven and get to Heaven
So how can I have my sins forgiven?
Lets start at the beginning.
God made everything:
Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The Bible tells us that God made the stars, sun, moon, earth and all the animals. He also created the first man and woman. Their names were Adam and Eve.
God made us so He can live with us forever. That's why God wants you to be with Him in Heaven - He loves you very much!
But we have a problem: We are sinners! Sin is something in me. God hates sin! Sin is things like: lying, stealing, pride, cheating, disobeying parents, being unkind. We can't hide it from God.
Have you ever done any of these things?
YES or NO
Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.
If yes, that means when God looks at you, He sees a sinner. This is BAD NEWS. Even though God loves you He must do what is right and punish your sin in a place where your punishment will never end.
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death...
Matthew 25:46 - And these shall go away into everlasting punishment
Does God see you as a sinner?
If you died now would He have to punish you?
Is that somewhere you want to go?
If God loves you do you think He would make a way for you to escape this?
Well the Good News is God did make a way for every sinner to escape His punishment. To do this, He had to take our place.
God's way to fix our problem: He sent His Son. God has done everything to fix your problem.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God sent His son Jesus to take our punishment by dying on a cross. He was taking the punishment for every sin that you and I and everyone in the world has ever done. The Lord Jesus knew that the only way that your sin could be forgiven would be if He would die for you and take your punishment. Jesus died for your sins. Then they buried his body.
Did you realise that Jesus died on the cross for your sin? Do you believe that He did this for you?
But Jesus didn't stay in the grave. Three days later He proved that He could take away your sins and give you everlasting life by coming back to life! Then He returned to Heaven, where He is today.
1 Corinthians 15:4 - And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
God's only Way to Heaven. God asks you to believe (trust) Him to take away your sin.
John 1:12 ... as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
We are told that if we ask Jesus to be our Saviour he will let us become one of his children... When we are his child we don't have to be afraid that he will punish us for our sin, He is no longer our judge he is now our loving father.
Have you ever believed that Jesus did all this for you and asked him to forgive you so you can become God's child? I'm not talking about whether you go to church or try to be good or if your parents are Christians. Those things are good, but they cannot take away even one sin. God says to have your sins forgiven it must be something YOU want and YOU must ask Him to be YOUR Saviour.
YOU MUST:
A: Admit you have sinned against him and need forgiveness
B: Believe Jesus died on the Cross for you and rose again
C: Call on God to forgive you and ask him to take away your sin
You could pray something like this:
Dear God,
I know that I have sinned and done bad things against you. I believe that Jesus is God's Son and that He took the punishment for all my sins by dying on the cross.
I believe He came back to life again. I am asking Jesus to be my only Saviour from sin. I want to turn to you and be your child.
In Jesus' name, amen.
